What to Know When You Go Wine Tasting in Napa Valley

AYou may be new to wine tasting and there’s a lot you can know! But like any subject you have to start somewhere. The first thing to know is that there are no hard and fast rules. But this article is meant to help you feel comfortable if you’ve never gone, or it’s been a while.

Wine tasting can be one of the most fun and romantic things you can do for a day trip, coming up from San Francisco, or overnight when visiting the Napa Valley. Smaller family owned wineries, like The Andretti Winery are a good start because we’re smaller and very friendly. We also have wines at many price points. Many smaller wineries take reservations but we have an open to the public tasting room just about every day of the year.

When wine tasting often there is a spit bucket. That’s right, if you don’t want to drink the whole (usually) 3 oz. taste, you can spit it into the bucket rather than swallowing. Our tasting room servers and employees love sharing what they know about the wines with you! Do not be shy about asking questions.

Remember you can always join the wine club too. Andretti Winery is open for tasting almost every day of the year. Join us and feel like real family here in the beautiful Napa Valley.
